Hypnosis is a state of heightened focus and concentration of the conscious and unconscious mind. Your mind is so focused that you can become unaware of your surroundings and bring your attention onto just one thought, almost like a daydream. Remember in school, sometimes your mind would just drift off and you’d be lost in your thoughts? You would completely forget about your teacher and the class. This is a form of hypnosis. You can induce this by yourself.
Hypnosis is a very personal experience and not everyone will feel the same way. However, in order to reach a state of hypnosis, you will be guided into a comfortable state of relaxation. Most of the time, hypnosis will just feel like you are relaxing.
Some people remember everything, some people remember only certain parts. Being able to remember what happened during a session has no impact on the efficacy of the treatment.
No. Even in a hypnotic state, you are in complete control and you can get yourself out of hypnosis whenever you want.
Every session will start with a little chat about why you have come to see us and the area you would like some assistance. This part will take a little longer during the initial session so that we can get to know each other and to be able to get a clear assessment of your current situation.
